What are brown lash extensions?
Brown lash extensions are the perfect choice for achieving a natural yet voluminous lash set that complements your clients' existing lashes flawlessly. Crafted from mink, they offer versatility, seamlessly blending with natural lashes to add fullness and length without looking overtly artificial.
What type of client would benefit from brown eyelash extensions?
For those with Blonde or Red Hair
Suggesting brown eyelash extensions to your clients offers a subtle yet enhancing option, especially for those with fair complexions or light features like blonde or red hair. Brown lashes match their skin tone a lot better, resulting in a softer, more flattering effect.
For those a Little Older in Age
Additionally, for older clients seeking a refined and delicate appearance or those with lighter-colored lashes, recommending brown extensions can achieve a graceful and natural enhancement.
For those with Sparse Lashes
Clients with sparse lashes can benefit from your recommendation of brown lashes. Not everyone is blessed with an abundance of natural lashes, and that's perfectly fine! This is where your expertise shines. If your client desires to enhance their natural lashes, brown lashes are ideal for filling in sparse areas. They're especially perfect when the brown pigment complements your clients' natural lashes - it's truly a satisfying outcome.
For those Who Love All Natural, Yet Hate Mascara
For clients who typically choose a lash lift, consider suggesting a set of warm-toned brown lash extensions. Brown lashes offer an excellent alternative for those who want to steer clear of mascara, but also want to have lashes with length and volume.
Tip: Use a clear lash glue as colored adhesive won’t give the seamless appearance that you might be going for. Using a clear adhesive allows the extensions to blend into the natural lash and helps to avoid a harsh lash line.
Do brown lash extensions come in a variety of lengths and curls?
Yes! Brown individual length lashes come in a variety of curl, length, and diameters. For a full view of what brown lashes Honeybee Lashes carry, go here.

The Honeybee Lash Lift Kit comes with the following:
Here is a step-by-step guide to Lifting Lashes
Step 1: Gather Your Supplies
Step 2: Clean Clients Lashes
It is critical to make sure your clients' lashes are clean and free of makeup. This step is very important because any residue might obstruct the lifting process. After cleaning, fully dry lashes.
Step 3: Determine Which Size of Silicone Rod to Use
There are multiple sizes of Lash Lift Rods, to determine the size of the rod needed take the small rod and place the rod above the eyelashes on the lash line. Do not apply any glue to the rod yet. You are just testing the length of the eyelashes. Take an applicator and bend the eyelashes across the rod to see if the eyelashes go all the way across the rod. The eyelashes need to extend completely across the rod. If the eyelashes go only part way across the rod, the eyelashes will not get a dramatic curl. It is alright if the tips of the eyelashes go slightly over the rod, but you do not want the eyelashes to go too far over the rod. Test each rod size to find the perfect fit.
Step 4: Brush Out the Eyelashes
Before you glue the eyelashes to the lash lift rod, brush out the eyelashes with a disposable mascara wand. It is important that the eyelashes are straight.
Step 5: Secure the Lower Lashes
A lash lift is performed on the upper eyelashes, not the lower. Before starting the lash lift, secure the lower eyelashes by placing a sticky eye gel pad over the lower eyelashes. This keeps the lower eyelashes from accidentally getting curled up with the upper lashes.
Step 6: Apply the Lash LIft Rod
After you have determined which size of rod to use, it is time to attach the rods to the lash line. To attach the rods, hold the rod upside down and then apply lash lift clear adhesive to the bottom of the rod. Immediately place the rod right on the lash line above the eyelashes.
Step 7: Attach the Eyelashes to the Lash Lift Rod with Y Brush
To attach the eyelashes to the lash lift rod with the Y Brush. In a step-by-step process, apply the lash lift clear adhesive to 1⁄3 of the rod. Then take a micro swab applicator and slowly press the eyelashes across the rod in an upwards motion with Y Brush. Make sure to go slow so the eyelashes have time to adhere to the rod.
Once the eyelashes are attached to the rod, apply lash lift clear adhesive to the second part of the rod and slowly repeat the application.
Note: It is important to apply the eyelashes to only ⅓ of the rod at a time so the adhesive does not dry before the eyelashes are applied to the entire rod.
Once the eyelashes are applied to the rod, repeat the same steps to the other eye.
Step 8: Apply Perm Solution to Eyelashes
Now that all of the eyelashes are attached to the rod, it is time to apply the Perm Solution to the eyelashes. Refer to the Perm Solution instructions for recommended processing time with clients lash type. Most processing times are between 5 - 15 minutes with an average time of 10 minutes.
Apply perm solution to the bottom half of the eyelashes with a disposable applicator. Apply the solution to the bottom half for the first half of the processing time - if your processing time is 10 minutes, apply the processing solution cream to the bottom half of the eyelashes for 5 minutes then after the first 5 minutes apply the solution to the top half of the eyelashes for the remaining 5 minutes. The tips of the eyelashes are thinner and applying the solution to only the bottom half of the eyelashes first will help prevent over-processing the tips of the eyelashes.
It is important to keep track of the time with a timer so you do not over-process the eyelashes.
After the Perm Solution has processed, wipe the solution off with a Q-Tip. Make sure to gently wipe the solution off so that the eyelash does not detach from the rod.
Step 9: Setting Solution
Apply the Setting Solution to the eyelashes in accordance with the instructions on the Setting Solution. Apply the Setting Solution to the entire eyelash. The Setting Solution neutralizes the Perm Solution. After the instructed time on the Setting Solution is over, (between 6 to 8 minutes) remove from the eyelashes with a Q-Tip.
Step 10: Remove Eyelashes from the Rod
Take a moist Q-Tip and gently rub the eyelashes on the rod back and forth until the eyelashes detach from the rod. Use a Q-Tip or makeup removal pad and slowly rub under the rods back and forth until the rods come off the skin. Remove any remaining adhesive with Lash Nutrition cream on a makeup removal pad.
Step 11: Lash Nutrition cream
After the rod has been removed, apply Nutrition to eyelashes.
And that’s it! Now your client will have dramatically curly eyelashes for 6-8 weeks!

Clean Lashes = Happy Lashes
Dirty lashes are an absolute no-go, as extensions won't adhere to grime, and any trace of residue can seriously impede the adhesive bond. Prioritizing cleanliness is crucial, so ensure your client's lashes are impeccably clean before delving into the enchanting world of lash application.
Bonus Tip: Take this moment to also explain the significance of pristine lashes to your clients.
Find Your Perfect Glue Match
Selecting the perfect lash adhesive is akin to discovering a soulmate for your lashes. It should harmonize with your working pace and the ambiance of your lash haven. Avoid getting entangled in a love triangle of low humidity and high humidity. Take a moment to check the weather, make necessary adjustments, and commence the enchanting dance of the lash-adhesive connection!
Hygrometer Magic: Your Lash lair Sidekick
Meet your new bestie, the hygrometer! This little gadget is your ticket to lash paradise. Grab one for a mere $10 on Honeybeelashes.com, and let it spill the tea on the temperature and humidity. If your lash glue is acting sassy, blame it on the weather, adjust your lash lair settings, and keep those lashes in check.
Generous Gluing
Don’t be stingy with the glue! While drawing your extensions is a no-no, a little extra glue can be a game-change. If you’re noticing the lashes popping off while working, your adhesive is curing too quickly during placement. Adding a bit more glue should eliminate this issue. So channel your inner glue boss and let those lashes shine like the stars they are!
Keep Your Glue Drop Fresh
Change your glue drop regularly, approximately every 15-20 minutes or as needed. When you notice the adhesive becoming tackier or thicker, it’s time for a fresh drop. This ensures the adhesive maintains the desired consistency for application.
Teach Your Clients to Lightly Brush
Remind your clients that brushing their lashes is a gentle affair, not a WWE smackdown. Show them how to channel their inner fluffing vibes - soft, gentle, and with a touch of elegance.
There you have it, lash lovers! Armed with these tips, you're ready to conquer the world of extensions. Go forth and lashify!

]]>Not only does regular cleaning keep lash extensions looking fabulous, but it also maintains the health of your natural lashes. Neglecting the cleanliness of your lashes can lead to a range of unsavory consequences, such as bacterial buildup, loss of natural lashes, and premature fallout. We recommend cleaning your eyelashes twice a day.
Lash Cleanser: We recommend investing in a high-quality, lash-specific cleanse. If you haven’t tried it yet, Honeybee makes a great foam lash cleanser that comes with a free brush, that we know is worth your time to give a try.
We know it can be tempting and seem like it is cost-effective to create your own lash cleanser, but you might be taking a big risk. Home-made cleansers may not meet hygiene and safety standards, they might be ineffective, or contain ingredients you or your clients are allergic or sensitive to.
Cleansing Brushes: Tiny cleansing brushes or spoolies are your best friend. Use them to apply the lash cleanser and gently scrub your lashes.
Water: Clean, cool water is essential for rinsing. Make sure to rinse thoroughly to remove any residue from your lashes. Pat them dry with a clean, lint-free cloth. Remember, no rubbing!
For a full guide on how to use a foam lash cleanser to clean your eyelashes, we wrote a great blog post here for you to check out a step-by-step process.

So, you might be wondering, why are high-quality lash tweezers so absolutely crucial? Well, let's dive right into it. To start, we have precision – and in the world of eyelash artistry, precision isn't just a luxury; it's an absolute necessity. Lash extensions thrive on those intricate, tiny details, and the use of subpar tweezers can lead to nightmares like uneven lashes or, dare we say it, unintentional lash disasters! With top-notch tweezers at your fingertips, you gain the power to delicately grasp even the most minuscule lashes effortlessly, ensuring each individual eyelash finds its perfect, precise place with grace and accuracy.
Now, let's talk about the runner-up in our list of reasons why high-quality lash tweezers are a must: durability. When it comes to lash tweezers, longevity should be non-negotiable. At Honeybee, our meticulous selection process for tweezers involves a close examination of the materials they're crafted from. You see, cheap tweezers can be prone to bending or losing their grip as time goes by, resulting in not just frustration but also hard-earned money down the drain. We firmly believe that investing in a durable pair of tweezers is a smart choice that pays off in the long run, ensuring that your lash artistry journey is marked by smooth and seamless applications, time after time.
And, let's not overlook the comfort factor – it's a game-changer! We understand that hours of lashing can take a toll on your hands, so having tweezers that are not only lightweight but also exceptionally easy to handle can be an absolute blessing. Your comfort matters just as much as the precision of your work, and with ergonomically designed tweezers like the Honeybee ones, you'll find that those long lashing sessions become far more enjoyable, making the process smoother for both you and your clients.
If you’re wondering what eyelash tweezers are the best fit for you. Check out this article.

Ah, fall – the season of pumpkin spice, cozy sweaters, and breathtaking foliage. Why not extend the magic to your lash studio? Imagine your clients' lashes in warm, earthy tones reminiscent of autumn's splendor. Think orange, red, and browns. These fall-inspired colors aren't just shades; they're a celebration of the season itself.
What's even better? Fall is all about embracing change, and what better way to do that than by offering your clients a chance to switch up their lash game? Colored lashes in fall hues allow them to explore their wild side with a touch of sophistication. Envision red lashes paired with yellow accents, or purple lashes that exude mystery. It's all about giving your clients a chance to embrace a fresh, daring look that mirrors the spirit of the season.
But let's not forget about versatility – a must in the realm of beauty. Colored lashes in fall shades aren't solely for the bold and adventurous. They can be seamlessly integrated into classic lash sets, adding that extra layer of allure. Think about accentuating a timeless cat-eye look with lash extensions in purple or UV orange, or enhancing a natural style with lashes with a touch of white. The options are as abundant as your imagination.

]]>Prep for Success
Before your clients hit the water, recommend they consider using a water-resistant eyelash sealant to protect their extensions from the potential effects of chlorine or saltwater. Sealant can be applied with a clean mascara wand or spoolie.
Shield The Rays
Protecting eyelashes from the sun is just as crucial as protecting your skin. Suggest that your clients flaunt their style with a wide-brimmed hat or trendy sunglasses to shield eyes and lashes from direct sunlight. Excessive sunlight can potentially fade or damage eyelash extensions.
Post-Swim Rinse
After any aquatic adventure, remind them to give their lashes a refreshing rinse and clean. An eyelash foam cleanser will work best to remove any chlorine or saltwater residue. This is extremely important because it will prevent their eyelash extensions from drying out and becoming brittle.
Embrace the Air Dry
While we all love a good blowout, recommend that your clients air-dry the lashes and avoid using a hairdryer or rubbing them with a towel. The excessive heat or friction can weaken the adhesive, causing lashes to prematurely fall out.
Handle with Care
Remind them to resist the urge to touch or rub their lashes, especially when they're wet. Moisture and friction can lead to premature shedding and damage natural lashes. Instead, embrace their beauty from a distance and let them dry naturally.
Remember, these tips will not only help your clients preserve the longevity of their eyelash extensions but also keep their natural lashes healthy and happy. So, dive right in, make a splash, and enjoy every moment while looking like a beachside goddess!

Difficulty in Creating Uniformity
One of the main challenges lash artists face when applying volume lashes is achieving uniformity in lash placement. Making sure each individual extension is positioned correctly and evenly spaced, is not an easy task and can result in an inconsistent and unbalanced appearance.
Solution: To address this problem, lash artists should invest in high-quality lash adhesives that offer a suitable drying time. This allows them to adjust and manipulate the lash extensions before the adhesive sets. Additionally, using specialized lash mapping techniques, such as the "mapping out" method, can assist in achieving precise and uniform lash placement.
Premature Lash Extension Shedding
Premature shedding of lash extension is another common concern for lash artists working with volume lashes. This occurs when lash extensions detach from the natural lashes sooner than expected, resulting in a shorter retention period.
Solution: To enhance retention, lash artists should ensure proper isolation of each natural lash during the application process. This prevents lashes from sticking together and reduces the chances of premature shedding. Additionally, cleaning the natural lashes thoroughly before applying extensions and using a primer to remove any excess oil along with a lash sealant afterward can contribute to improve adhesion and longevity.
Overloading Natural Lashes
Applying excessive volume lash extensions to natural lashes can lead to strain and damage. Overloading occurs when lash artists use lash extensions that are too thick or heavy for the natural lashes, resulting in discomfort and potential long-term damage.
Solution: It is crucial for lash artists to assess the natural lashes' health and strength before selecting the appropriate volume lash extensions. Using lightweight and thinner lashes, such as 0.03 or 0.05 diameter extensions, helps minimize the strain on the natural lashes. Proper consultation and understanding the client's preferences are essential to ensure the best lash extension weight and length combination.
Retention Issues
Poor retention of volume lash extensions is a common issue that can leave clients dissatisfied. It can be frustrating for lash artists to witness their hard work diminished as lashes shed sooner than expected.
Solution: Lash artists should prioritize proper lash extension application techniques, including appropriate isolation. Furthermore, educating clients about proper aftercare practices, such as gentle cleansing and avoiding excessive rubbing or pulling, can significantly contribute to prolonged retention.
At the end of the day, to become a skilled lash artist, it takes time and practice. Mastering the art of volume lashes comes with its own set of challenges. If you would like to up your Volume lash skills, think about joining us with one of our Volume lash training classes or we offer 1:1 training. ]]>Eye lash Super Bonder is a lash glue curing agent. It is formulated to polymerize the lash adhesive and eliminate shock curing. Just a small amount of super bonder applied to the base of the eyelash extension can result in a super-fast drying time, a more flexible bond, longer-lasting hold, and fewer fumes.
What does it do?
When applied to the dried lash adhesive it creates a chemical reaction with cyanoacrylate, the adhesive’s main ingredient, that cures the glue. This process adds elasticity to the adhesive, it locks in the fumes from the adhesive and with the fumes contained, irritation and sensitivity are significantly redacted. Additionally, because the bonds have been sealed, the lashes, therefore, are instantly safe to get wet.
How do you use it?
Super Bonder is easy to use. After applying lash extensions, wait two minutes, then squeeze one small drop onto a micropore applicator (a little goes a long way) and apply a small amount of Super Bonder along the bonding point of the glue. Allow your client’s lashes to air dry and after three minutes the bonds will have sealed and the lashes are all set. If you use a Nano Mister during your service, wait 3 minutes before use.
What is the difference between super bonder and lash sealant?
Super bonder functions like sealant, but with added benefits. It features a tighter bond that blocks glue fumes and increases elasticity at the adhesive bonding points. Lash sealant provides a barrier between the lash glue and environmental elements that might break down the glue. When it comes to super bonder versus sealant, there is no definitive “best choice.” It depends on the client’s goals. Super bonder works best for more active clients or have weaker lashes and experience a lot of breakage. Sealant is a good entry level option for lash artists without a lot of experience.
If you want to learn more about applying super bonder, contact us. We offer one-on-one training, in addition to Volume and Mega Volume Trainings all the time. Check out our Lash Training page for dates.

Most years it feels like the winter cold sweeps in overnight. When temperatures drop, low temperatures outside can actually result in the lash glue drying more slowly. If you do not set the recommended humidity and temperature levels in your lash room your adhesive can become more gooey and thicker than usual from colder temperatures. This change in inconsistency can affect both the pace of your work and lash retention.
Tip: To avoid the inconsistency, we recommend having your glue in the recommended room temperature for the adhesive at least one hour prior to the appointment
Low Humidity
Utah primarily has a dry, semi-arid and desert climate. In the summer we have what is known as a “dry heat” and in the winter it is called a “dry cold”. There is not a lot of moisture in the atmosphere. As professional lash technicians, we all know humidity plays a huge role in the eyelash extension process. Low moisture makes glue particles hardening and drying way slower than intended, making lash appointments longer, causing clients to become impatient.
Tip: If you live in a low humidity climate, we recommend purchasing a low humidity adhesive of 30% humidity or less. We also recommend purchasing a humidifier to bring more moisture in your work environment.
High Humidity
If you live in an area that has a lot of rain and humidity in the air during the winter , these hyper-humid environments can lead to a process called shock polymerization, which is simply known as “blooming”. When blooming happens, it can cause eyelashes to turn white. As we know, cyanoacrylate needs moisture from the air to be properly cured, but when lash adhesive dries too quickly, it makes the bond too stiff and fragile. Thus leading to premature shedding.
Tip: To avoid “blooming” we recommend having a dehumidifier in your application room.

]]>As you get started into the new world of eyelash extensions, knowing whether you need to use a lash accelerator or a primer is important and can make a difference with your lash retention and customer satisfaction. At Honeybee, we put together everything you need to know so you walk away confidently knowing how to use these products.
Recently we discovered that a lot of eyelash technicians may not have been taught how to use an eyelash accelerator or a primer or you were taught how to use one over the other. If this is you, just know, you are not alone.
Lash accelerators and primers are used for different purposes, however they both can really improve how long your client’s extensions last. Our hope is after reading this post, you’ll walk away with a better understanding and feel encouraged to try out some new techniques.
Lash accelerator is applied to the eyelash extensions only and is not to be applied to your client’s natural eyelashes. Lash Accelerator should be applied throughout lashing every 40 minutes. Lash Accelerator is used to speed up the curing time of the eyelash adhesive which speeds up the time it takes to apply.
Lash primer typically should only be applied to your client’s natural eyelashes and not the extensions. Primer is added prior to applying the eyelash extensions as a pre-treatment. Lash Primer helps to strengthen the bond between the real eyelashes and extensions.

One question customers continually ask is “How do I clean the spoolie brush?”
Spoolie brushes are not just used for de-clumping and brushing eyelashes, but they are also known as a secret makeup weapon, and like any makeup or eyelash tool, they need to be cleaned every once in a while.
Step 1: Rinse the spoolie in warm water
Step 2: Place a drop of cleanser of your choice into the palm of your clean hand.
Step 3: Gently massage the tips of the bristles in your palm.
Step 4: Rinse the bristles thoroughly
Step 5: Squeeze out the excess moisture with a clean towel.
Lastly, lay the spoolie flat to dry. Repeat every other week.
Step 1: Use a tissue or paper towel to wipe off excess mascara
Step 2: Disinfect synthetic brushes with spray rubbing alcohol or pour some into a jar and dip the bristles in.
Step 3: Place a drop of cleanser into the palm of your hand.
Step 4: Rinse bristles thoroughly
Lastly, lay the spoolie flat to dry.
Eyelash spoolies should be replaced every 2-3 months. It’s recommended to send a clean spoolie home with your clients every time you fill or complete a new lash set. Eyelash extensions are semi-permanent lashes made from synthetic mink, or silk and are applied by medical grade adhesive to your natural lashes. They are not the same as strip lashes, and are placed individually, either on each lash or every other lash, depending on the desired look.
How long do eyelash extensions last?
Because eyelash extensions are attached to the natural lash, they last as long as the natural growth cycle, or about six weeks.
Do eyelash extensions hurt?
No! Eyelash extensions do not hurt if they are applied correctly. Eyelash extensions should ALWAYS be applied with professional tools by isolating one lash, and adhering
How long does it take to apply eyelash extensions?
A full set of eyelash extensions take anywhere from 90 to 180 minutes to apply depending on the lash style and experience of your lash technician.
Can I wear mascara or eye makeup with my eyelash extensions?
We do not recommend wearing mascara with your lashes. For eyeshadow and eyeliner, as long as it is oil-free and removed daily with an oil-free makeup remover, you can pump up the eye drama.
Can I use a lash curler on my eyelash extensions?
No need! The extensions curl on their own.
Can I wear contact lenses with lash extensions?
Yes! Eyelash extensions are typically safe to wear with contact lenses. If you have highly sensitive eyes, you may need to remove your contact lenses during your eyelash extension service but you will be safe to place them back in after the service
Will lash extensions damage my natural lashes?
Lash extensions will not ruin your natural lashes. Natural lashes only become damaged from extensions if they are applied incorrectly.
What are the most important dos and don’ts of wearing lash extensions?
Only use oil-free products, avoid pulling or tugging, keep the lashes clean and gently comb through them with a spoolie brush if they crisscross at all. And no waterproof makeup around the eye area.
What do I need to do before my first lash extension appointment?
Shower prior to your appointment, wear comfortable clothing, remove eye contacts, and use the bathroom. Don’t wear makeup, apply face creams or sunblock to the eye area, or curl your ashes on the day of your lash application.
How often do I need to get infills on my lashes?
Eyelash extensions are bonded to the natural lash, we recommend lash infills every 2-3 weeks to keep the set of eyelash extensions looking full.

What are Neon Colored Lash Extensions?
Neon lash extensions are a kind of colored lash, but compared to other colored lash extensions they are able to glow under UV or black light vividly and perfectly. Even under normal light, they can show out brighter in color, giving them a spooky fun look.
What materials are Neon Lash Extensions Made out of?
The main material used for all lash extensions is Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT). PBT is more advanced and softer than ordinary fiber. They are very easy to work with and are great for beginners who are training to the advanced lash technician.
What Neon colors does Honeybee Lashes carry?
Currently we have in stock 9 different UV color lash colors. From Black with UV Green to UV Cotton Candy, our UV lashes are exactly what you are looking for.

]]>Eyelash Foam Cleanser + Cleansing Brush
A lot of eyelash artists will give this product to their clients as part of their service. Keeping lashes clean not only extends the longevity of the lashes, but it prevents a build-up of dead skin cells and bacteria growth.
The Honeybee Eyelash foam cleanser comes with a free cleansing brush. A lash cleansing brush helps reach deep in between natural lashes and wipes away impurities at the base of the lash extension from every angle. Lash cleansing brushes also have extra soft bristles, which are great for sensitive eyes.
Clients may be tempted to use a q-tip or cotton ball to clean lashes, but remind them that lint and fiber from these materials can easily catch the extension and remove them prematurely.
Educating your clients on how to properly clean their lashes with the cleansing brush is important, dirty lashes and equal costly repair and fill. Check out this blog post to share with your clients on How to Clean Eyelash Extensions with a Foam Cleanser.
Lash Wands
Serving a dual purpose, as a lash technician you’ll use a lash wand to brush out lashes while you work, and then they make a great gift to pass along to your clients. Typically we recommend giving them the lash wand you used to apply their lashes, but we also recommend sending them home with an extra wand.
Eyelash wands are like a little lash brush that clients can use to keep their eyelashes properly placed and beautifully aligned.
Eye Makeup Remover
A good eye makeup remover can do wonders to preserve eyelash extensions. We recommend the Honeybee Eye Makeup Remover because it gently removes eyeliner, eyeshadow, even mascara without damaging your lash extensions.

]]>Colorful lashes are trending and we love all of the great new styles lash artists are creating. If you’re interested in testing out colored lashes with your clients or if you are looking for some additional tips to get that “wow” look every time, here are some basic ideas to give a try.
Use Clear Glue
To give brighter and lighter eyelash colors an additional pop and to create more of a vibrant look, use a clear adhesive. Also, the clear glue hides the bonding and helps them blend in better.
Mix White into Black
Also known as “Salt and Pepper “ eyelashes, adding white lashes adds dimension to a black lash set the same way any type of highlighting would work. You’ll want to add black falsies first and then a light layer of white near the bottom of the lash line, so they are only visible when viewed up close.
Add a Touch of Flare
Some of the more popular colored lash services are just simply adding a pop of color to the outer corner of a set of lash extensions. This simple look is easy to do and is also simple to change out when your clients come in for a fill.
Create an Extra Eyeliner Effect
To achieve a more defined eyeliner effect, use a black adhesive with darker colored lashes. By doing this you’ll create more of a natural looking eyeliner effect.
Layers
Layering colors can be really fun and how you layer your colors can create a different effect. This look changes with where you decide to place the color in the layer.
For a soft hint of color, that is only noticeable when your client blinks, add the color on the top layer.
For a more blended look, place colors between black extensions in the middle layer.
And to get colors to really pop, apply them at the bottom. This makes the color more visible, creating more of a hypnotizing effect.
Match The Eye Color
Use lashes that complement your client’s eye color. For example if your client has green eyes, subtly place a few green lashes in the outer corners of the lash line. This placement trick cleverly opens up your client’s eyes and makes them appear bigger and brighter.
Mix Lash Colors
Mixing colors can be a lot of fun. Some of our favorite color combinations are blue and white, green and white, brown and yellow. Mixing black lashes in with colored lashes create a more subtle, wearable everyday look or you can go all out and create festive holiday looks.
And that’s it! Did you learn a thing or two or do you have any tips you’d like to share? Share and tag us on social media, we can’t wait to see your creations.

CLEAN LASHES AFTER EXERCISING
Sweat and oils not only build up on your face causing acne, but it breeds bacteria and can damage the bonds of your extensions. Remind your clients that after they hit the gym and crush their workout, make sure they know the importance of cleaning and rinsing away the sweat and oils that have accumulated on their eyelids.
CLEAN LASHES AFTER THE POOL
Chlorine can be really harsh and drying. Remind your clients that after they are done swimming and floating, they need to clean their lashes as soon as possible. Chlorine can cause lashes to become brittle and weaken their adhesive bonds.
AVOID SMOKE AND FLAMES
Summer is the time for barbecues and bonfires. Gathering around a fire with friends and family under the stars is a timeless summer tradition. As you’re talking to your clients about their summer plans, remind them that open flames can disperse soot and ash that can buildup on their lashes and even can cause their eyes to water. To avoid damaging their beautiful summer lashes, remind them to clean their lashes as soon as they can.
AVOID OIL CLEANERS
Makeup, sweat, buildup, and even dead skin cells can be harmful to your lash extensions. As we know, oil based products will also cause your lashes to come loose before your fill. So it’s always a good reminder to ask your first time clients what type of facial cleansers they use to avoid any potential issues.
AVOID LONG PERIODS OF BEING IN THE HEAT
If laying all day in the sun is one of your clients favorite summer activities, it might be worth having a conversation about adjusting their lash length. Scaling back in length and diameter can help keep lashes looking better, longer. Especially if they spend long periods of time in the heat or sun.
DON’T SKIP FILL APPOINTMENTS
It’s summer, we’re all a little busier and there are a lot of things to see and do, friends to meet, and memories to make. Be diligent about rebooking your clients before they leave for their next fill appointment. If they do get caught and won’t be able to make an appointment, recommend they at least do a lash lift. This will help avoid that awkward growth phase between appointments.
With proper care and maintenance your clients eyelashes will remain plush and full all summer long! Do you have any additional tips? Share them with us, tag @honeybee_lash_co on Instagram.

The price point for volume lashes makes many people wonder “why are they so expensive?” It’s a very valid question. Truthfully, volume lashes applied incorrectly by a poorly trained lash technician can cause a lot of future damage to the client. The saying “you get what you pay for” is true when it comes to Volume lashes.
Volume lash application requires concentration, steady hands, high-quality products, high-quality tweezers, extensive training, and top of the line adhesive.
At Honeybee lashes we know the importance of lash training and lash training maintenance which is why we regularly offer Volume lash training for those wanting to learn the technique or get better at applying Volume lashes.
Our volume lash training courses offer 2 days of in depth knowledge and lots of hands-on experience. Each training includes a kit, manual, meals, snacks, and a certificate upon completion.
We also understand the importance of offering high quality products that lash artists can depend on. When it comes to Volume Lash Extension Supplies we recommend the following products from Honeybee Lashes.
ADHESIVES
Holy Grail Lash Adhesive is our lash artist’s top choice. It is one of the most flexible adhesives on the market. It has an extremely fast dry time and the glue can be used in a wide range of humidity.
The Resistance is our newest adhesive that is oil and water resistant.
Clear Liquid Gold Adhesive is a CLEAR adhesive formulated for classic and volume lashes.
Black Liquid Gold Adhesive is a great one stop shop glue and is formulated for classic and volume lash extensions.
Invisigold Lash Adhesive is just like our holy grail adhesive but clear!
SUPER BONDER
The Honeybee Super Bonder maximizes retention up to 30%, it increases the flexibility of the glue, and enhances the bond with the eyelash extensions to the natural lash helping to reduce the fumes from the adhesive and helps to ease possible eye irritation. This is a must for clients who tend to be more sensitive to eyelash extensions.
EYELASHES
CC Curl Individual Length Trays offer 16 rows of lashes. For volume lashes we recommend the diameter variation from .02-.07. These lashes are a synthetic mink pigmented with a true black pigment giving them a matte finish for more of a natural look.
D Curl Individual Length Trays offer 16 rows of lashes. For volume lashes we recommend the diameter variation from .02-.07. These lashes are a synthetic mink pigmented with a true black pigment giving them a matte finish for more of a natural look.
PRIMER
Create a stronger hold with the adhesive by applying Primer directly to the natural lashes and to the lash extensions.
TWEEZERS
HB-103 (S Shape) & HB-105 (L Shape) tweezers are the most ideal for picking up fans and attaching them when your appling or fanning out volume lash extensions.
And that’s all you need to create beautiful volume lashes. If you have any questions about volume lashes, volume lash training, or our volume lash supplies, please feel free to reach out to us.

1) Practice Installing Lashes
Practice makes perfect. Perfection is achieved when you’ve done the task a thousand times and the muscle memory is ingrained in your brain. As a lash technician, you have to practice your skills consistently if you want to provide your clients with the very best lashes and service. As the famous artist Rembrandt once said - “Practice what you know, and it will help to make clear what now you do not know”.
2) Steady Hands
Applying eyelash extensions requires you to work with one individual eyelash at a time. It’s important to keep an eye on caffeine intake or anything that might make you feel jittery or shaky. With up to 60 eyelashes to apply per eye, you’ll need a steady hand to prevent mistakes.
3) Details Matter
If you apply each lash as perfectly as possible, then your clients will love your work and tell all their friends. The key is to make sure you are paying attention to each little detail throughout the process and work towards applying each lash as perfectly as possible.
4) Accuracy Matters
Accuracy and confidence go hand in hand. When it comes to lashing, there is no room for error. Otherwise you’ll be left with an unsatisfied customer and possibly a bad reputation.
5) Look at Your Profession as an Art Form
If you want to be a lash artist, you need to look at every eye that you frame as a piece of art. Your job as a lash artist is about helping your clients feel amazing by creating something that enhances their natural beauty.
6) Build up your stamina
Having a full day of clients can be tiring and the last thing you want is to find yourself a little shaky by the time you greet your final customer. To build up stamina, start small and then work up to a full day of appointments.
7) Excellent Eyesight
We all think this is a “no brainer” but honestly, it’s okay if you were not gifted with perfect vision. Just make sure to wear your glasses or contact lenses while you work. It’s so important to be able to clearly see what you are doing while you're working with tiny individual lashes.
8) Become well-versed with using your supplies.
Knowing and understanding your supplies can help you get into a great rhythm while you’re applying lashes. If you’re trying to figure out which set of tweezers will work best to apply each lash type, not only will your client start to question your abilities, but the amount of time wasted by not knowing your supplies will impact your ability to fill your schedule.
9) Continuing education
Enroll in a Lash extension course. Nothing beats getting together with other lash artists to share and learn together. Challenge yourself to grow with each class. Learn how to increase your speed and technique or learn a new lashing technique. Taking at least 1 course per year is recommended. Just like business professionals go to conferences each year to network, learn, and grow their skills, lash artists need to stay up-to-date on their skills and techniques.
10) Customer Service Skills are Important
This one should be another “no-brainer” but the interactions you have with your clients can make or break your reputation. Be careful not to gossip or talk about other clients. Working on soft skills and good customer relationship skills can help you build a stronger bond and loyalty with your clients. It also creates a welcoming environment for clients to want to come back and tell their friends.
We really hope these tips have been helpful! According to research from Luxe Cosmetics, it's pretty clear that lots of folks in the US and all over prefer going to the pros for lash extensions. And hey, who can blame them? Getting those lashes just right takes serious skill and know-how. Pros (like you) know how to tailor the look to fit your client's eyes perfectly, making sure it's exactly what they want. So, keep up on your lashing game and share with us any additional tips you might have on our Instagram account @honeybee_lash_co..

]]>5 Easy Steps to Clean Your Eyelash Extensions:
Step 1:Wet your eyelashes with water
Step 2: Apply a small amount of the foam lash cleanser to a cleansing brush.
Step 3: Gently lather the foam cleanser to your eyelashes and right down to your eyelid for at least 5 seconds.
Step 4: Rinse thoroughly with water and gently pat dry with a lint-free towel
Step 5: Gently brush lashes with a lash wand.
How often should you clean your eyelashes?
We recommend cleaning your eyelashes daily, twice a day.
What type of cleanser should you use?
It is important to have a lash cleanser (and facial cleanser) that is oil-free and alcohol-free. Oil based products can break down the lash glue and cause the eyelash to detach. Also, we are talking about cleaning on and around your eyes! You want something that isn’t going to sting or be harmful to your eyes. Honeybee Lashes makes a great eyelash foam cleanser that is gentle, tear free and formulated to remove any oils, dust or makeup.
What types of products should you avoid when you have eyelash extensions?
You should never use glycerin or oil based products when you have eyelash extensions or while cleaning lashes. These products break down lash glue and cause the detachment of eyelashes. Oil products can be in the form of shampoos, eye creams, conditioners, cleansers, spray toners, or moisturizers, to name a few.
Also, avoid using cotton pads or swabs. Cotton has a tendency to snag or rip eyelashes out.
What happens if you don’t clean your lash extensions?
Over time dirt, oil, and bacteria will build up between your eyelashes and create a structure called biofilm. If your eyelashes are not cleaned properly, soon this biofilm becomes a toxic environment causing your eye or eyelid to become inflamed and infected.
So, You Finished Washing Your Eyelash Extensions, Now What?
You need to brush them! Yep, that’s right. Just like your hair, eyelash extensions need to be brushed daily. Spoolie Brushes or Lash Wands are the best tool to brush eyelashes. The best time to brush your eyelashes is in the morning, and always make sure your lashes are dry before you brush them.
And that’s it! That is everything you need to know to take care of your eyelash extensions so they stay beautiful and last longer.

]]>Let us introduce to you Eyelash Super Bonder. Known as a lash artist’s secret weapon! And if you have ever wondered how it all works, read on:
Why do you need a Super Bonder?
Super Bonder is a lash glue curing agent. When applied to the dried lash adhesive, eyelash extension Super Bonder creates a chemical reaction with cyanoacrylate, the adhesive’s main ingredient, that cures the glue. Noral dried Cyanoacrylate is not very flexible, which is one of the reasons why lashes fall off after a while. When you add a super bonder to your lash glue it results in a super-fast drying time, a more flexible bond, longer-lasting hold, and fewer fumes.
What does lash Super Bonder do?
The Super Bonder’s job is to add elasticity to the adhesive making the bonds more flexible, therefore resulting in better retention. It also reduces the drying time for faster lashing and seals the glue so lashes can get wet within minutes instead of hours. Lastly, it decreases odor and eye irritation by encapsulating glue fumes.
Does Super Bonder Increase Lash Retention?
Yes! Eyelash Super Bonder is designed to push humidity out of the adhesive surface of the glue. When it is applied to glue bonding points, Super Bonder strengthens the bond between the adhesive and the natural lash, which works to extend retention up to 30% longer!
How do you use an eyelash Super Bonder?
For such an incredible product, Super Bonder is strikingly versatile and low maintenance! It works in any temperature or humidity environment, with any lash adhesive, and can be used with all types of lashes.
After you finish lashing, wait 2 minutes, then apply Super Bonder. Squeeze a tiny amount onto a microfiber brush and dab the individual adhesive bonding points. A little goes a long way, so be careful not to oversaturate the lashes.
Allow the lashes to air dry. In just three minutes, the bond will have completely sealed, and the lashes are safe to get wet!
When using Super Bonder, you will no longer need to use nanomisters or nebulizers at the end of each appointment.
Does Super Bonder require patch testing?
Honeybee Lash Super Bonder’s are gentle enough so they do not require patch testing. Instead, we encourage Lash Artists to communicate regularly with their clients as they are applying the bonder to see if there is any irritation or discomfort.

]]>This trend started in 2018 by Canadian lash expert Joanna Keller. By using the “salt and pepper” technique she discovered she was able to create lashes that appear denser and much more feathery than the typical, black extensions that are often used.
In explaining this trend and technique to your clients, think of it as similar to when you highlight your hair. The lighter highlights in dark hair make it look brighter and more full. When you apply this same process to eyelashes it has the same impact in helping to create more detail around your eyes and depth.
When applying salt and pepper lash extensions to clients, apply black ones per usual. Then for the very bottom layer near the lash line, glue on white lashes. They end up making up about an eighth of the whole set.
White lash extensions cost about the same as the standard black and they last just as long.
And if you’re really wanting to spice things up, add in a middle layer of another color like lash artist @simply_esthetics did with Honeybee Lash products in the photo below. The depth the colors portray on the lashes really create a mesmerizing look we just can’t get enough of.
If you’re wanting to try these looks, you can purchase white eyelash extensions here. For all our colored eyelash extensions and standard lash extensions, you can go here.

]]>With so many options, how does one decide which eyelash extension tweezer is the best fit?
First, it’s important to remember, tweezers are a tool to make your job easier. You want a good fit for your hand because when held for a long period of time, tweezers essentially become a part of your fingers. As a professional lash artist, it is important to think about the weight, balance, and grip of the tweezer.
Types of eyelash tweezers
The tips of lash tweezers are what make professional eyelash extension tweezers. Each tweezer shape is most ideal for picking, selecting, and separating eyelashes during the application process.
I Shape & F Shape - Most Ideal for Isolation & Classic
Our straight tweezers come to a nice point. Are very light weight with medium tension.
Our Curved Straight Tip Tweezers have a natural curve that is great to assist with isolation. This tweezer is extremely light weight and has medium tension.
S Shape - Most Ideal for Volume & Isolation
HB-103 is one of our newest tweezers. It isn’t only just beautiful, but so easy to work with. The tension is perfect, and the footing is impeccable allowing effortless pick up of the lash extensions.
L Shape - Volume Fan Making
HB-105 is also part of our newest tweezer collection. Our HB tweezers are beautiful and so easy to work with. Perfect tension and the footing is impeccable, allowing effortless pick up of Fan lash extensions.
By the Material
Stainless and titanium are the most common materials used for professional eyelash extension tweezers.
Honeybee lash tweezers are made from Japanese Steel. This makes them very durable and lightweight. Making your lash application experience seem effortless.
Ultimately finding the right fit with tweezers depends on you. Just like when you are choosing the right eyelash extension adhesive, consider many factors (and try them out) to find the one that you like best.

]]>If you do not have your eyelash adhesive dialed in, it can cause suffering to your clients and could have drastic consequences, like an allergic reaction, eye infection, and poor retention. So let's avoid catastrophic whoopsies and learn a little bit more about eyelash adhesives and why a good eyelash adhesive matters.
What’s in it?
A common question that every lash artist should know how to answer.
Eyelash Adhesive, commonly referred to as GLUE is derived from Cyanoacrylate, pronounced SIGH-ANNO-ACK-RIL-ATE, and this is the base chemical in the majority of lash extension adhesives on the market today. Cyanoacrylate does not dry, it cures in the presence of moisture. As the adhesive is exposed to moisture, the vibrating molecules within the lash glue begin to show and form polymer chains. These chains are very strong and difficult to break once cured, which is why lash extensions remain attached to the natural lash for weeks on end.
What about formaldehyde?
We all cringe when we hear the word “formaldehyde” so let’s talk about what this really means.
There are a lot of clients and lash artists that are concerned by formaldehyde being in the Cyanoacrylate Adhesive. Formaldehyde is used in the production of all eyelash adhesives, however the gas dissipates during manufacturing and is not traceable in the final product. Formaldehyde is a natural byproduct of the curing process and is released as a gas. The amount released is not close to concerning levels. Also when Cyanoacrylate comes in contact with the moisture in the air, it begins to cure. This is also why we recommend replacing glues 4-6 weeks after they have been opened.
Why does the quality of lash glues differ?
Just like clothing, your skin can tell the difference between a $5 dollar shirt and an $80 dollar shirt.
Truth is most lash glues use the same ingredients, however the quality of each contributing element and the formula used to produce the adhesive is what creates the magic. Proper temperature and humidity is also a key factor in how the eyelash extension adhesive reacts and dries when it is applied. It’s important to read the labels, follow the product information for most ideal drying time, and adhere to the adhesives humidity limitations.
Why is Honeybee Eyelash Lash Adhesive so amazing?
Lash artists love the quality, consistency and dependability of Honeybee Lash Adhesives.
Our most popular eyelash glue is our Holy Grail Lash Adhesive. This lash adhesive is flexible and made for the more advanced lash artist because it has an extremely fast drying time of 0.5-1 second. It can be used in a wide range of humidity from 15% to 70%, it’s latex free, and has a hold time of 6 to 8 weeks.
The Invisigold Lash Adhesive is just like the Holy Grail adhesive, but clear. It has a quick dry time of 0.5 seconds and works best in a higher humidity of 35% to 75%. Lower humidity climates prolong the dry time to 1 to 2 seconds. This adhesive is latex free and has a hold time of 6 to 8 weeks.
Honeybee also has an adhesive formulated specifically for classic and volume lash extensions. The Black Liquid Gold Adhesive is fast drying (1 - 3 seconds) and is best used in a low humidity climate of 30% or less and at a temperature of 68 to 72 degrees F. This eyelash glue is latex free and has a hold time of 5 to 7 weeks.
Similar to our Black Liquid Gold Adhesive, our Clear Liquid Gold Adhesive is a CLEAR adhesive. Formulated for classic and volume lashes it can be used in climates ranging from 30% to 75% humidity and has a drying time of 1 to 2 seconds. This eyelash adhesive is latex free and has a hold time of 5 to 7 weeks.
